my country's wheel rim specification codes are largely aligned with international standards. Nominal width and nominal diameter are expressed in inches. The connecting symbol in the middle (either * or -) indicates whether the rim is a one-piece (integral) unit.
Wheel rims in my country are manufactured in accordance with the national standard GB/T 3487-2005.
For example: "4.50E*16" denotes a one-piece rim with a nominal width of 4.5 inches and a flange code of E.
"6.5-20" denotes a multi-piece, flat-base wide rim with a nominal width of 6.5 inches and a nominal diameter of 20 inches.
Rim specifications are crucial during vehicle operation, as they determine which tires can be fitted to the vehicle.
Tire/Rim Specifications: International standard tire codes express the section height and aspect ratio (as a percentage) in millimeters, followed by the tire type code, rim diameter (in inches), load index (code for permissible load capacity), and speed rating code. For example, in "175/70R 14 77H": 175 indicates a tire width of 175 mm; 70 indicates an aspect ratio of 70% (meaning the section height is 70% of the width); 14 indicates a rim diameter of 14 inches; 77 is the load index; and H indicates the speed rating.
