Forging processes are primarily classified into cold pressing and hot pressing. Cold pressing involves using a press to shape the metal at ambient temperature; while this method places high demands on equipment and technique, it preserves the metal's original microstructure to a certain extent. Hot pressing, on the other hand, entails heating the material to a red-hot state to soften the metal before forging. Heating the metal to this state significantly enhances its ductility; forging at this stage not only reduces the required pressure but also effectively minimizes issues such as cracking and fracturing, facilitating a smoother forming process. Generally, hot pressing is the more widely used method.
